Capacity Building Events
Wilderness Therapy Namibia hosts at least three capacity-building events per year. Information and knowledge on everyday topics are shared during capacity-building events. Participants and alumni are encouraged to attend with their families and friends.
The capacity-building event was initially developed as Parental Capacity-building with the aim of providing information and guidance on the emotional challenges, hardships, and responsibilities resulting from irresponsible sexual relationships and teenage pregnancies.
Wilderness Therapy Namibia realised that there are many more topics on which participants and alumni are uninformed and decided to include more relevant topics. Knowledgeable professionals and organisations are called upon to share information with the participants, alumni, their families, and friends.
Topics include, but are not limited to:
Drug and alcohol abuse
Depression, anxiety, and suicide
Fire prevention and first aid
Gender-based violence
Spiritual and emotional wellbeing
